South African Navy participate in Youth day at DE HOOP Primary School Somerset West

The South African Navy (SA Navy) participated in a careers’ exhibition at De Hoop Primary School under the theme Youth Day. De Hoop Primary School is a public school, situated in Somerset West, consisting approximately 1200 learners and is a double medium school.

SA Navy participants included the Human Resources Department (Recruitment) and the Maritime Reaction Squadron. The SA Navy’s Human Resources Department provided learners of De Hoop Primary school an opportunity to gain knowledge on the SA Navy and what career paths are available once they complete Grade 12. The Maritime Reaction Squadron showcased a Harbour Patrol Boat with armament (1x12.7mm Browning Machine Gun and 2x7.62mm Light Machine Gun) at the outdoor exhibition.
