SANDF at it again at the Mitchell’s Plain

Mitchell’s Plain festival took place 25-27 November 2016
at the Westridge Gardens in Mitchell’s Plain.
festival celebrated its 8th year of existence and kicked
off with a bang. Apart from the SANDF being the biggest
participant in the festival, various sponsors and local
businesses also took part making it a huge success this

Falcons from the South African Air Force based in
Langebaanweg as well as SAASIC based in Potchefstroom
that specialises with dogs, bikes and horses and did an
entertaining mock-up display under the auspices of Staff
Sergeant Van Wyk. Thereafter a mini military tattoo was
held where the SA Army Band entertained the community
with military as well as conventional music, this being
the highlight of the day.

church parade held at the Gardens. Later the SA Navy
Marimba Band entertained the crowd with music. This also
being one of the most entertaining events at the
festival which had the community from old to young
dancing their socks off.
